MgO Sound Insulation Board

Lux-MgO Board is a newly developed, extensively tested modern building board used in construction. It is made from a mixture of magnesium oxide (MgO), non organic minerals, bonders and fibre mesh composites. MgO contains no formaldehyde, no asbestos and no toxic chemicals.

Lux-MgO Boards has extensive applications in construction for commercial and residential properties. It is also of particular interest to those renovating or repairing where either plasterboard gypsum style linings or other kinds of deteriorating high maintenance plasterboard cement derivative products have been used.

Fire Resistant

Lux-MgO Board have class A1 fireclassification according to EN 13505-1

Water Proof

Lux-MgO board is completely waterproof. It is broken down by immersion in water for longer than one month and repeated freeze-thaw cycles, resulting in long periods of time.

Soundproof
Lux-MgO boards are low-weight structures can achieve significantly higher sound insulation of upto 64dB

Environmental

Lux-MgO board is produced from mineral
ingredients and does not contain organic solvents, asbestos, formaldehyde compounds, ammonia, oils, toxic substances or salts of heavy metals.

Typical Uses

Interior Partitions
Various finishing solutions
Covering materials for ceilings
Surface finishing solutions
Heat and moisture resistant work surfaces
Niches, boxes, arc elements, etc.
Wind boxes
Cable covers
Wet Areas

How is MgO Board different?

    • Lux-MgO Board has been tested to 1200°C with no combustion or flame out.
    • Lux-MgO Board does not absorb water and so superheated steam will not “blow out” the product as it may do with standard building bricks in fire conditions.
    • Lux-MgO Board is totally fire resistant. It will not burn in case of a commercial unregulated fire*.
    • Lux-MgO Board insulation properties help protect internal furnishing from internal combustion, flash burning from high external temperatures
    • Lux-MgO Board is 8 to 10 times stronger than normal plasterboard products and insulates from intense heat and cold.
    • Lux-MgO does not break down in water so is ideal for water prone areas
    • Lux-MgO is of no interest to insect pests and termites.
